Dixie is a small village situated close to the Gowrie Gate entrance of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Through our close associations with our neighbours and our love of the area in general, we have cultivated a unique partnership with the Dixie Community in order to contribute to their general upliftment.

The Cultural Village Excursion affords the opportunity to slip unnoticed into a day in the life of the locals while tapping into the inspiring optimism and energy that is so much part of this little village’s charm. The transfer will be in a Chitwa Chitwa open vehicle and will take about two hours from the time of departure from the lodge.

Trip of a Lifetime

The accommodations are luxurious and spacious. The food was great and I love the different dining arrangements for dinner, like dining out in the bush with a wood fire pizza oven and full bbq! We not only saw the Big 5, we were fortunate enough to see the Big 7 thanks to Deon! It was truly the trip of a lifetime. I can't recommend a visit to Chitwa Chitwa enough.

Interesting Lodge & Game Drives

This is an interesting stop on our Safari journey. The staff were excellent in terms of lodge service. The game drives were interesting and we saw a wide variety of game. The lodge on a very positive note overlooks a lake with animals visiting across from the lake and hippos in the lake.

Wonderful from Morning to Nighttime

We had a wonderful time at Chitwa Chitwa. The villa was amazing and the whole flow of the days were perfect from morning to night. Everything was considered in advance by the team. We had originally thought that 4 days could have been too long but it wasn't and we could have stayed longer. We'll be back.

The Most Incredible Safari Experience

My husband and I spent the most memorable 4 days at Chitwa Chitwa. If there is one holiday we want to repeat, it would be to go on a safari again! The animal sightings were so incredible and plentiful over our 8 game drives. The suites were enormous and luxurious, the food was delicious (and so much food), the staff were exceptional and no ask was ever too big. We felt we had the place to ourselves as it’s all very private.
